Prehistoric Favourites
Let’s kick things off with the classics — the dinosaurs every kid can name. These four are the heavy hitters of the prehistoric world, and they make brilliant coloring pages because they’re so recognisable.
Friendly T-Rex
Everyone’s favourite toothy giant gets a goofy grin in this one. He’s stomping through the jungle with volcanoes in the background, but he looks more like he wants to play than chase anything. Perfect for kids who love their T-Rex with a bit of personality.

Baby Triceratops Hatching
There’s something irresistible about a baby dinosaur breaking out of its egg. This little triceratops is just poking its head through the shell, all wide-eyed and ready for adventure. Great for younger kids who love anything baby-related.

Brachiosaurus
The gentle giant of the dinosaur world, stretching up to munch leaves from the tallest tree. This page has a lovely peaceful feel to it — all those long curved lines are satisfying to colour in, and there’s plenty of background foliage to keep busy hands occupied.

Stegosaurus
Those iconic back plates and tail spikes make the stegosaurus one of the most fun dinosaurs to colour. This one’s wandering through a fern forest, and all those individual plates give kids a chance to experiment with different colour combinations.

Sky and Sea Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs didn’t just stomp around on land — some ruled the skies and oceans too. These pages take the colouring adventure beyond the jungle.
Pterodactyl in Flight
Wings spread wide, soaring over the ocean with fish jumping below. The pterodactyl is one of those dinosaurs that really captures kids’ imaginations — probably because the idea of a flying reptile is just inherently cool. Lots of sky and water to colour here too.

Plesiosaur Underwater
Deep beneath the surface, this long-necked plesiosaur is gliding through coral and fish. An underwater scene is always a hit with kids who love ocean life, and the combination of dinosaurs plus sea creatures is a winning combo. If your child enjoyed this one, they might also love our T-Rex coloring page for more prehistoric fun.

Fun and Imaginative Dinosaurs
This is where things get properly creative. Because who says dinosaurs can’t be superheroes, scientists, or pizza lovers?
Superhero Velociraptor
A velociraptor wearing a superhero cape and striking a heroic pose — honestly, this one makes me smile every time. It’s drawn in a comic book style that kids absolutely love. The action pose and flowing cape make it one of the most dynamic pages in the collection.

Kawaii Pizza Dino
A cute kawaii-style dinosaur surrounded by pizza slices and junk food. Because apparently dinosaurs love pepperoni as much as the rest of us. This one always gets picked first when I put the whole set out — there’s something about the combination of cute + food that kids can’t resist.

Space Dinosaur
A dinosaur astronaut floating through space with planets and stars all around. If your child loves both space AND dinosaurs, this page is basically their dream come true. Lots of planets and stars to colour in different shades — galaxy colours work beautifully here.

Scientist Dino
A dinosaur in a lab coat peering through a microscope — because dinosaurs were clearly very studious creatures. This page is brilliant for kids who love science, and it’s a fun conversation starter about paleontology and what scientists actually do.

Football Dino
A pachycephalosaurus playing football — and honestly, with that hard head, this dino would be unstoppable on the pitch. A sporty, energetic page that’s great for kids who love both dinosaurs and football.

Social and Family Dinosaurs
Some of the sweetest pages in this collection feature dinosaurs together — friends, family, and party animals (literally).
Dino Party Friends
Three baby dinosaur friends wearing party hats — an instant classic. This one’s perfect for birthday party printouts or just a cheerful afternoon activity. Lots of fun details to colour in and plenty of room for creative colour choices.

Dino Music Band
A parasaurolophus playing music with its dino band mates. Because that crest on a parasaurolophus head basically IS a musical instrument, right? This one’s full of energy and fun — kids who love music will be all over it.

Mama and Baby Dino
A sweet mama T-Rex carrying her baby on her back through the jungle. This tender scene is one of my personal favourites in the whole collection. It’s proof that even the fiercest dinosaur is a softie when it comes to their little ones. Would make a lovely Mother’s Day activity too.

Detailed and Relaxing Designs
These pages have a bit more detail and are great for older kids (or adults!) who want something more intricate to work on.
Dinosaur Mandala
A symmetrical mandala design woven with T-Rex heads, bones, footprints, and fern leaves. This one’s genuinely relaxing to colour — the repetitive patterns are perfect for mindful colouring sessions. Older kids and adults tend to gravitate toward this one. If you enjoy mandala-style pages, check out our unicorn coloring pages which include a unicorn mandala too.

Ankylosaurus
The heavily armoured ankylosaurus with a volcano smoking in the background. All that armour plating creates a really satisfying pattern to colour section by section — almost like a natural geometric design. The volcanic landscape adds drama to the scene.

Spinosaurus Fishing
The spinosaurus was actually a real fisher dinosaur — that huge sail on its back and those long jaws were built for catching fish. This page shows it doing exactly that, snatching a fish from a flowing river. A more realistic scene for kids who like their dinosaurs scientifically accurate.

Dilophosaurus in the Rain
The dilophosaurus with its distinctive frill, standing in a rainy jungle scene. The rain adds a moody atmosphere and those raindrops give kids an extra element to colour. A dramatic page that feels a bit different from the cheerful designs above.

Best Coloring Supplies for Dinosaur Pages
You don’t need anything fancy to enjoy these coloring pages — whatever you’ve got at home will work brilliantly. But if you’re looking for supplies that’ll make the colours really pop, here are my go-to recommendations:
For bold, vibrant dinosaurs: Crayola Colored Pencils are a classic for a reason. They blend smoothly and the colour range is perfect for creating everything from jungle greens to volcanic reds.
For younger kids: Chunky crayons or washable markers are the way to go. Less frustration, more fun — and you won’t worry about permanent marks on the table.
For detailed work: If your child (or you!) wants to get intricate with the mandala or the ankylosaurus armour, Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils are gorgeous for layering and blending colours.

Tips for Printing and Coloring
Quick Answer: Print on standard A4 or US letter paper, use a slightly heavier weight (120gsm) if you’re using markers, and colour on a flat hard surface for best results.
A few things I’ve learned from years of printing coloring pages:
- Paper weight matters with markers — standard 80gsm printer paper works fine for pencils and crayons, but markers will bleed through. Use 120gsm or put a blank sheet underneath.
- Print at “Actual Size” — don’t let your printer auto-scale or “fit to page”. The designs are already sized for A4/letter.
- Colour lightest to darkest — especially with pencils. It’s much easier to add dark colours over light ones than the reverse.
- Try different media on the same page — coloured pencils for fine detail, markers for bold areas, and gel pens for highlights and sparkle.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these dinosaur coloring pages really free?
Yes, completely free! Just sign up with Grow.me (it takes about 10 seconds) to unlock the PDF download. Once you’re signed up, you’ll also unlock every other free printable across my entire site — there are hundreds of them.
What age are these dinosaur coloring pages suitable for?
Most of the pages work well for ages 4-10, though the simpler designs (baby triceratops, party friends) are great for younger kids, and the mandala and detailed pages suit older kids and adults who enjoy mindful colouring.
Can I use these coloring pages for a classroom or party?
Absolutely! These are perfect for classroom activities, dinosaur-themed birthday parties, rainy day activities, or after-school clubs. Print as many copies as you need for personal and educational use.
What’s the best way to print these?
Download the PDF and print at actual size on A4 or US letter paper. Standard printer paper works fine for pencils and crayons. If you’re using markers, go for a slightly heavier 120gsm paper to prevent bleed-through.
