What’s Inside the Free Easter Colouring Pack

Quick Answer: The free Easter colouring pack includes 40 pages of Easter-themed designs including decorated eggs, bunny scenes, spring flowers, and Easter baskets — suitable for kids and adults.

Forty pages sounds like a lot until you realise how quickly colouring can become its own little obsession. The pack is genuinely varied — this isn’t forty versions of the same basic Easter egg. Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • Decorated Easter eggs — classic shapes with patterns ranging from simple stripes and dots to intricate geometric designs and delicate florals
  • Bunny scenes — individual bunnies, bunny families, bunny in a garden settings — all outline style, ready for colour
  • Spring chicks — fluffy little chick illustrations that kids absolutely love
  • Easter basket designs — filled with eggs, flowers, and springtime goodies
  • Floral spring pages — tulips, daffodils, and blossom arrangements that work beautifully with a gentle watercolour wash
  • Mixed Easter scenes — broader compositions with multiple Easter elements that are lovely for framing once coloured

The designs are deliberately clean — no fussy backgrounds, just well-drawn outlines on a white page. That means they work with whatever colouring medium you prefer, from wax crayons right through to fine-tipped markers or even a light watercolour wash over the top.

Tips for Colouring Easter Pages

One of the loveliest things about colouring pages is that there’s genuinely no wrong way to do it — but there are a few things that make the whole experience more enjoyable, and a few techniques that’ll make your finished pages look really beautiful.

Choosing Your Medium

Coloured pencils are the most forgiving option, especially if you’re just getting back into colouring after a while. You can layer colours, blend with your finger or a blending stump, and correct mistakes relatively easily. They’re brilliant for the detailed egg patterns in particular — you can shade in the curves of the egg shape to give it a three-dimensional look.

Markers give you that bold, saturated look that photographs beautifully. If you want bright, vivid Easter colours, markers are your friend. Just be aware that they can bleed through thinner paper, so tuck a spare sheet underneath. For the cleanest results with markers, work from the lightest colours first and build up to the darks.

Crayons are obviously the go-to for younger children, and honestly they work a treat. The waxy texture means you can do some basic blending and layering with a bit of practice. For a fun adult technique, try layering a dark crayon over light colours and then scratching a design into the surface with a cocktail stick — it gives a gorgeous sgraffito effect on egg patterns.

The Watercolour Wash Technique

This is my personal favourite thing to do with colouring pages, and it sounds fancier than it is. Print your colouring page on slightly heavier paper or watercolour card — I love using my Canson XL Watercolor Sketchbook for this, as the paper handles water beautifully without buckling. Then paint over the outlines with very diluted watercolour, keeping it light and loose. The ink outlines hold everything together while the watercolour adds the most gorgeous, soft spring colours.

Tip: Wet the area you want to paint first with clean water, then drop your colour in wet-on-wet. The colour will bloom and spread in the most beautiful way, giving you that soft, hazy Easter egg look.

Layering for Depth

Whether you’re using pencils or crayons, layering colours adds real depth to your finished page. For Easter eggs, try colouring the overall shape in your base colour first, then adding a slightly darker shade along one edge and a lighter or white highlight on the opposite side. That simple gradient makes a flat circle look three-dimensional. For floral designs, shade from the centre outwards — darker at the base of the petals, lighter at the tips.

Easter Colouring Page Ideas

If you’re not sure where to start with the pack — or you just love having a creative brief to work from — here are five approaches that always produce gorgeous results:

  1. Monochrome technique: Choose a single colour family (all the pinks, or all the blues) and work entirely within that palette. It sounds limiting but it forces you to get really creative with light and shade, and the finished result has this sophisticated, cohesive look.
  2. Pastel spring palette: The classic Easter colour palette — soft lavender, mint green, baby pink, buttercup yellow. These work especially well with coloured pencils or crayons, and the colours sit together so naturally it’s hard to make it look wrong.
  3. Bold and bright for kids: Encourage children to go as vivid as possible. Neon orange eggs, electric blue bunnies, hot pink flowers — the more joyful and unexpected the colour choices, the better. This is colouring as play, not as performance.
  4. Watercolour wash technique: As mentioned above — a light watercolour wash over the outlines gives a dreamy, translucent look that’s particularly lovely on the floral and egg pages.
  5. Metallic pen accents: Colour the page in your usual way, then go back over certain areas with a gold or silver gel pen. Just the outlines of an Easter egg, or the centre of a flower — a little shimmer goes a very long way and makes the finished page feel genuinely special.

Best Supplies for Colouring Easter Pages

You don’t need anything fancy to enjoy these colouring pages — a basic set of coloured pencils will do you proud. But if you’re looking to upgrade your colouring supplies or want to know what works particularly well, here’s what I’d recommend:

Coloured Pencils — The Beginner’s Best Friend

Coloured pencils are genuinely the most versatile option for colouring pages. They’re forgiving, blendable, and give you real control over where the colour goes. For a step up from basic coloured pencils, look for artist-grade pencils with soft cores — they blend much more smoothly and give richer colour payoff.

Markers for Bold Results

Dual-tipped markers — a fine tip on one end and a brush tip on the other — are incredibly versatile for colouring. The fine tip is perfect for intricate areas like the small pattern sections on detailed egg designs, while the brush tip lets you sweep broad strokes of colour across larger spaces quickly. If you’re buying for kids, look for washable markers specifically.

Watercolour Pencils for a Painterly Look

Watercolour pencils are a brilliant middle ground — you can use them dry like regular coloured pencils, or sweep over them with a damp brush to activate the pigment and create that soft, watercolour effect. For the Easter egg and floral pages in particular, watercolour pencils let you build up lovely ombre effects and soft colour gradients that are genuinely hard to achieve with standard coloured pencils.
