What is an angelfish?

The name “angelfish” comes from the shape of their fins, which resemble angel wings when turned head-down and have a silhouette of an angel. Furthermore, some varieties have gleaming scales that are beautiful like glowing angel wings!

There are angelfish that live in the South Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and the sea near Africa. They can be found anywhere around coral reefs of all sizes.

Most angelfish have a golden or white background with black markings on their bodies – these help them blend into their surroundings. Additionally, angelfish can quickly change colors and their scales shimmer green, blue, pink, or red depending on the angelfish.

Angelfish prefer to swim around rocks and coral reefs where they can find lots of hiding places and food sources. Their diet consists mostly of algae and plant life that grows on the rocks and corals – angelfish will occasionally feed on invertebrates and dead organisms as well.

Why are angelfish so magical?

Popular angelfish facts are that angelfish are very smart fish, angelfish can hide behind rocks and coral reefs, angelfish will often change colors when threatened or scared, angelfish love to eat algae and plant life.

All of these attributes make angelfish magical because they blend in with their surroundings.
